The inline tuning fork density meter is a vibratory instrument for continuous, real-time liquid density measurement in pipelines and tanks. Its operation is based on a piezoelectric crystal exciting a two-pronged fork to vibrate at its natural resonant frequency. The presence of the process fluid alters this frequency, which is inversely proportional to the fluid's density. A second piezoelectric element detects the vibration, and an integrated microprocessor converts the frequency signal into a density reading.

Key features include high accuracy, typically ±0.001 g/cm³, and built-in temperature compensation via a PT100 sensor to ensure reliable data across varying process conditions. Constructed from robust, wetted materials like 316L stainless steel or Hastelloy, these meters are suitable for aggressive media.
