This embedded hydraulic cylinder linear position sensor is engineered for direct immersion into hydraulic actuator bores or piston-rod cavities, withstanding static pressures up to 600 bar (8700 psi) and peak surges to 1000 bar. The sensing element-either magnetostrictive, LVDT, or eddy-current-is housed within a thick-wall, non-magnetic stainless or titanium tube, welded and O-ring sealed against high-temperature hydraulic fluids (mineral oil, water-glycol, or phosphate esters) ranging from –40°C to +125°C. Integral temperature compensation electronics adjust for thermal expansion of the cylinder barrel, while built-in EMC suppression and reverse-polarity diodes prevent interference from adjacent solenoid valves and variable-frequency drives. Outputs are typically 4–20 mA loop-powered or 0–10 V, with diagnostics for over stroke, under-voltage, or internal short-circuit conditions. The hydraulic cylinder linear displacement sensor's dead zone is minimized (less than 25 mm) to utilize full piston travel.
